I mean have you kept your agoraphobic condition from almost everyone?
You are not alone. I personally could operate well enough for most people to think I was fun and maybe liked to drink too much. Thanks to genes from my father. I was a good actor. Most of my family members like brothers, sisters, in laws really didn't know I was as debilitated as I was. Not even my own husband knew!
My sons knew after reading my book. I portrayed myself as so normal that most family members didn't believe what they read in my book. They thought I was lying about most of the agoraphobic part.
I used alcohol and pills to get through things I just couldn't get out of. (I hated alcohol and pills). I had small children at the time so it was easy to use them as an excuse.
I talked to a friend the other day that I haven't seen since I wrote the book and she hadn't ever heard of agoraphobia. We are definitely at the bottom of the priority chain.
I know it's hard for a lot of you to believe your eyes are the cause of the problem but it's true.
